Dynamic Critical Behaviour of Wolff ’ S Algorithm for Rp N Σ - Models
We study the performance of a Wolff-type embedding algorithm for RP σ-models. We find that the algorithm in which we update the embedded Ising model à la Swendsen-Wang has critical slowing-down as zχ ≈ 1. If instead we update the Ising spins with a perfect algorithm which at every iteration produces a new independent configuration, we obtain zχ ≈ 0. This shows that the Ising embedding encodes w...

Dynamic Models Of Maintenance Behaviour
This position paper considers the problem of understanding the dynamic behaviour of software systems and in particular from a maintenance perspective. One approach is to consider the dynamics, in particular feedback loops, of such systems. We briefly report on the limited work in the area to date [1, 2] and then describe a case study derived from an information systems for a multi-national orga...
متن کاملBehaviour of Humans and Behaviour of Models in Dynamic Space
This paper addresses new trends in quantitative geography research. Modern social science research – including economic and social geography – has in the past decades shown an increasing interest in micro-oriented behaviour of actors. This is inter alia clearly reflected in spatial interaction models (SIMs), where discrete choice approaches have assumed a powerful position. This paper aims to p...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Dynamic Modulus Predictive Models for Asphalt Mixtures
Dynamic modulus characterizes the viscoelastic behavior of asphalt materials and is the most important input parameter for design and rehabilitation of flexible pavements using Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). Laboratory determination of dynamic modulus is very expensive and time consuming. To overcome this challenge, several predictive models were developed to determine dyn...
